A panel of speakers featuring former Mayor of Santa Cruz Scott Kennedy and UC Berkeley Sociology Graduate Student Tom Pessah discussing the way in which Israel’s legal system is set up to discriminate against Palestinian citizens of Israel.

Political Prisons: I Have Always Loved Criminals
A film screening of Light at the End of the Tunnel reflects on some of the problems that Palestinian detainees face after their release from Israeli (and Palestinian Authority) prisons. Six ex-detainees, two women and four men, talk about their life after being released.

Making the Connection: What was Done and What is to be Done
Professor of History at Stanford University Joel Beinin, Berkeley PhD candidate and Electronic Intifada journalist Osamah Khalil, and Director of Campaigns and Programs at Jewish Voice for Peace Sydney Levy will be discussing the U.S.-Israeli relationship and the potential for an effective Boycott, Divestment, and Sanction Initiative.

After the IAW closing event, join Break the Siege to launch a Bay Area campaign to Boycott Israeli Apartheid. Emceed by Nadeen Elshorafa with performances by Invincible and DJ Emancipation, Debka by Al Juthoor dance troupe, and poetry performances by Mahaliyah Ayla O, Lubna Morrar, Maria Poblet, Hadeel Ramadan, Dina Omar and more.
