Public Relations Intern, YBCA Marketing & Communications
Yerba Buena Center for the Arts (YBCA) is the contemporary arts center anchoring the arts district at 3rd and Mission in downtown San Francisco in the beautiful Yerba Buena Gardens. YBCA presents bold and innovative contemporary visual art exhibitions, performances and film/video screenings that provoke dialogue on the vital issues of our time.
We are currently seeking a Public Relations Intern.
Status: Unpaid Internship
Work Schedule: Three-month, commitment minimum, Flexible schedule
Principle Responsibilities
· Update and organize the PR data base and calendar
· Fulfill donation requests
· Archive press clips
· Maintain image library
· Assemble press kits
· Conduct community outreach
· Conduct industry research
· Assist with mailings
· General support activities for promotional and public relations activities
Minimum Requirements
· Candidates must be enrolled in an accredited academic program
· Candidates must be authorized by their university to participate in the internship
· Interest in contemporary art
· Excellent verbal and written communications skills
· Excellent organizational skills with particular attention to detail and capacity to effectively manage multiple tasks and deadlines
· Great inter-personal skills
· Must work well with staff, clients and the public
· Demonstrated experience working effectively in partnership with people of diverse cultural backgrounds
· Must be actively pursuing work experience and/or the study of Public Relations
· Candidates should have a willingness to learn, and be proactive
